Bachmann: “Will we be expecting boys to be girls?”

I just saw this article about Bachmann not signing anti-bullying legislation because it was a waste of time. Yet, nine teenagers have commited suicide in her district over the past two years. I just watched a special about it on CNN the other night. Though she isn’t the only one to blame — many people in the school district dropped the ball and still refuse to take any responsibility — I am very disappointed in Bachmann. Her ignorant comments in this article are what makes me even more upset with her. The article states:

In 2006, she told the Minnesota state legislature that passing an anti-bullying bill would be a waste of time. “I think for all of us, our experience in public schools is there have always been bullies,” Bachmann said. “Always have been, always will be. I just don’t know how we’re ever going to get to the point of zero tolerance… What does it mean?… Will we be expecting boys to be girls?”

So you think we should tolerate bullying, and you make sexist & homophobic remarks? Not a fan, Bachmann. Not a fan.
